Five Celebrities Who Got Famous By Accident
Many people dream of becoming a famous celebrity. Whether their passion is singing, acting, or something else, they strive to one day become well known and successful. In the early ’80s, Hulk Hogan (birth name Terry Bollea) was playing with his band, Rukus. Bollea had dreams of becoming a musician. He was also an avid weightlifter. Everything changed when some professional wrestlers saw Bollea. They believed that his muscular physique would make him a success in pro wrestling and convinced Bollea to give it a try. The WWF character of Hulk Hogan was soon born, and Bollea became one of the most popular wrestlers of all time.
Burt Reynolds had dreams of playing football in the National Football League, but a severe injury ended those hopes. While attending a community college course, Reynolds was asked to read an excerpt from a Shakespeare play aloud. His instructor was so amazed by Reynold’s voice that he encouraged him to join a play. Reynolds did so, and delivered an acclaimed performance that earned him a theater school scholarship. He was on his way to a career of hit movies like “Smokey and the Bandit”.
Twenty-five years ago, Steven Seagal was teaching martial arts classes. One of his students was Hollywood agent Michael Ovitz. Ovitz decided that Seagal had the makings of an action movie star. Seagal reviewed some scripts and signed on to do “Above the Law”. The movie became a hit, and Seagal is now a well known action hero.
Pamela Anderson was discovered at a B.C. Lions Canadian Football League game. Her picture was shown on the giant video screen and the crowd gave her an ovation because of her stunning looks.
